at the heart of « Tardieu-Laurent »

« Tardieu-Laurent » must be the most complete expression of the Great Terroirs de la Vallée du Rhône. « Tardieu-Laurent » aims at the Absolute, with no limitation or constraint.

At the same time, we wish to share with a larger number of wine lovers our passion for the wines of la Vallée du Rhône. We have therefore taken the decision to widen our offer, and we have founded « LES GRANDES BASTIDES ».

Wines that translate their "terroir"....

For us, all wine from de la Vallée du Rhône must be a strong experience : " LES GRANDES BASTIDES " propose a rare quality. The élevage of the wines is watchful, in the spirit of Tardieu-Laurent .

The fruit of "LES GRANDES BASTIDES" shines in the radiance of its youth, and gives the wine an immediately seductive personality… Still, this fruit expressing itself in the style peculiar to each Terroir, it opens to the prospect of tasting - after a period of ageing - wines with a strong character, highly typical, wines which are true images of their Terroirs…

The key to our aproach

To reach such an ambitious goal consistently, favourable elements have to be combined.

The cuvées of « LES GRANDES BASTIDES » come from the same Domaines which provide « Tardieu-Laurent » cuvées. They all come from old vines. The Domaines that we select are reference Domaines, whose way of conducting the work in the vines is regarded as exemplary.

Acknowledged expertise

The « Tardieu-Laurent » methods implement an acknowledged expertise :

. 15 months of a careful élevage on fine lees, in selected casks - Allier and Vosges oak.
. Few rakings in the course of the élevage.
. A subtle approach to the assemblage.
. Bottling without fining and without filtration.

Our ambition is to open the door to the true lovers of la Vallée du Rhône wines.

Nevertheless, the quantities of « LES GRANDES BASTIDES » will remain restricted, the choice of an utmost Quality being not compatible with big volumes.

Wines more accessible, but perfectly worthy of their great historical Terroirs, " LES GRANDES BASTIDES " are to be an invitation to discovery and pleasure.
